Maribel's Medical Journey

Hello everyone, this fundraiser is for my mother, Maribel. Not only my mother but a grandmother as well. The term "a picture is worth a thousand words" is exactly what this picture does. A kind, happy, positive woman. One who has done nothing but strive to give her children a life to be proud of despite any struggles.

Unfortunately, in 2021 she was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and was told she had a few years before it would really start to affect her; however, within that first year, she started experiencing many symptoms. Despite countless doctor visits and tests throughout this time, her attitude has not changed one bit. She has remained positive, outgoing, and continues to push, still waking up at 4 am to make the "best cafecito in Miami" as many have told her.

She's never been one to ask for much, but we are reaching a crucial point in her diagnosis. She has been tested and approved to be put on the transplant list, but the recovery process won't be easy. She won't be able to work for a minimum of 5 months, and insurance can only cover so much.

From the bottom of our hearts, we humbly ask that you donate to help alleviate her of some of the expenses she will have during recovery. Even a prayer can go a long way.

Hola a todos, esta recaudación de fondos es para mi madre Maribel. No sólo mi madre sino también una abuela. El término "una imagen vale más que mil palabras" es exactamente lo que hace esta imagen. Una mujer amable, feliz y positiva. Alguien que no ha hecho nada más que esforzarse por darles a sus hijos una vida de la que estar orgullosos a pesar de cualquier lucha.

Desafortunadamente, en 2021 le diagnosticaron cirrosis hepática y le dijeron que faltaban algunos años para que realmente comenzara a afectarla; sin embargo, durante ese primer año, comenzó a experimentar muchos síntomas. A pesar de innumerables visitas al médico y pruebas a lo largo de este tiempo, su actitud no ha cambiado en lo más mínimo. Ella se ha mantenido positiva, extrovertida y continúa esforzándose, todavía levantándose a las 4 am para preparar el "mejor cafecito de Miami", como muchos le han dicho.

Ella nunca ha sido alguien que pide mucho, pero estamos llegando a un punto crucial en su diagnóstico. Ha sido examinada y aprobada para incluirla en la lista de trasplantes, pero el proceso de recuperación no será fácil. No podrá trabajar durante un mínimo de 5 meses y el seguro solo puede cubrir una cantidad limitada.

Desde el fondo de nuestro corazón, le pedimos humildemente que haga una donación para ayudarla a aliviar algunos de los gastos que tendrá durante su recuperación. Incluso una oración puede ser de gran ayuda.
