In loving memory: Maricel, Jorge and Angie fund

It is with heavy hearts that we come together in the memory of our beloved family members Maricel Martinez, Jorge Cardona and Angelina Cardona. We all know death is inevitable, but no one ever expects to lose three loved ones at the same time. We just celebrated Angie's 12th birthday. We were all so excited to see Angie dancing and singing with her cousins. Maricel was so funny, such a good daughter, wife and friend, but most of all she was a dedicated mother. Her main priority in life was taking care of Angie. Maricel's other passion was teaching. She was a Spanish teacher at Saint Albert the Great. Jorge is deeply missed. He was seriously funny, hard working, very humble, and ready to help anyone in need.

Maricel, Jorge and Angie always extended their kindness to those around them, and now they have been blessed by a donor who will cover mostly all of their funeral/burial costs. After this amazing news, we pivoted the fund but with the same goal in mind, to ease the burden of expenses for the family during this incredibly difficult time and celebrate the life of Maricel, Jorge and Angie.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. The funds collected will be divided into 3 parts

-1st part will go to Maricel’s mother and father to assist with legal fees and other expenses

-2nd part will go to Jorge’s remaining son Juan (he is in the process of applying for a VISA to travel to the United States and pay his respects)

-3rd part will be used to create a fund which will provide carbon monoxide detectors to as many families as we can and raise awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Let us come together as a community to honor Maricel, Jorge and Angie’s spirit, celebrate their life, and offer our unwavering support to the Martinez/Cardona family.

Con gran pesar nos reunimos en memoria de nuestros queridos familiares Maricel Martínez, Jorge Cardona y Angelina Cardona. Todos sabemos que la muerte es inevitable, pero nadie espera perder a tres seres queridos al mismo tiempo. Acabamos de celebrar el cumpleaños número 12 de Angie. Todos estábamos muy emocionados de ver a Angie bailando y cantando con sus primas. Maricel era muy divertida, muy buena hija, esposa y amiga, pero sobre todo era una madre dedicada. Su principal prioridad en la vida era cuidar de Angie. La otra pasión de Maricel era la enseñanza. Fue profesora de español en San Alberto. Extrañamos profundamente a Jorge. Era realmente divertido, trabajador, muy humilde y dispuesto a ayudar a cualquiera que lo necesitara.

Maricel, Jorge y Angie siempre fueron amables con quienes los rodeaban y ahora han sido bendecidos por un donante que cubrirá la mayor parte de los costos de su funeral y entierro. Después de esta increíble noticia, dimos un giro al fondo pero con el mismo objetivo en mente, aliviar la carga de gastos de la familia durante este momento increíblemente difícil y celebrar la vida de Maricel, Jorge y Angie.

Cada contribución, sin importar el tamaño, marcará una diferencia significativa. Los fondos recaudados se dividirán en 3 partes.

-La primera parte irá a la madre y al padre de Maricel para ayudar con los costos legales y otros gastos.

-La segunda parte irá a Juan, el hijo restante de Jorge (Juan está en proceso de solicitar una VISA para viajar a Estados Unidos y presentar sus respetos)

-La tercera parte se utilizará para crear un fondo que proporcionará detectores de monóxido de carbono a las más familias posible y creará conciencia sobre los peligros de la intoxicación por monóxido de carbono.

Unámonos como comunidad para honrar la partida de Maricel, Jorge y Angie, celebrar su vida y ofrecer nuestro apoyo inquebrantable a la familia Martínez/Cardona.
