Marietta Theatre Square: Our Home Now & Forever

Hello, My name is Emil Thomas. I am the Artistic Director of Marietta's Theatre in the Square located in the historically Marieta Square in downtown Marietta, Georgia.

Over the last eight years, Marietta's Theatre in the Square has been the neighborhood theatre company to foster and provide opportunities for performing artists and organizations to create and evolve in a proud urban house. This award-winning theatrical house has suffered as many other theatres across the country are with declining ticket sales, fewer rentals, and increasing production fees. These harsh conditions over the last few years have put this organization in an unstable position to remain, sustain, and evolve.

As one of the very few brick-and-border theatre houses in the state of Georgia whose mission has been to create a space for urban artists and audiences to have their stories at the forefront of each event, the importance of community and support is priceless.

We are currently in the middle of our 8th season and have seen the decline in ticket sales continue in the wrong direction. Marietta's Theatre in the Square is in a state of emergency and needs your support. In order for this Home to have a 9th season to survive the current evolution occurring in the entertainment industry, we must raise $250,000.00 These funds will go to the direct operation of the theatre and production in 2023 and 2024.
