Shortly after her 29th birthday, Marina was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer in November 2013. Words cannot describe the range of emotions experienced as she told her friends, family and her daughter Isabella. Through the shock, Marina persevered and tackled the news head on.
Marina underwent two surgery operations in January 2014 and May 2014 to remove the cancer cells. Throughout the various medications and operations, Marina was in remission. She had to continue her three month checkups and each time the outcome was positive! No cancer! However, during her final 3 month check-up June 2015, the cancer came back. Yesterday, 1 July 2015, Marina received her third operation. We pray in the next couple of weeks the “third time is a charm”.
Throughout this journey, Marina continues to be a fighter and an example for her daughter to emulate. Marina does have insurance. However, her insurance does not cover all medical costs. As a single parent, Marina continues to work, support her daughter and pay what she can towards the ever growing medical expenses. The Go Fund Me account is to assist her with the balance of her medical bills.
