Broken leg at Burning Man!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Marina. I got the incredible opportunity to attend Burning Man on a low income (reduced price) ticket this year. It’s been a long time dream of mine to make it to the big burn, after being involved with my local regional community for years. Unfortunately, I broke my leg Thursday night. I was able to receive some medical attention while still on the playa but due to the rain I was unable to leave for further medical services.
After finally returning home this week, I discovered I would need surgery and will be unable to work for at minimum the next month, possibly and probably longer. I was already living paycheck to paycheck, and as a server/bartender I have no short term disability or PTO. As long as I am out of work, I am unable to make money. So far my medical expenses are totaling about $3000, and my monthly set expenses are around $2000.
I absolutely hate asking for help, especially knowing what a hell of a year we have all had, but I don’t know what else to do. Thank you all in advance.
