Marine Fighting Metastatic Melanoma

Please help us bring awareness to metastatic melanoma, and all of the prayers along with help to raise funds for Robbi Stokes. He is a 35-year-old veteran, 3rd battalion, 4th Marines of the United States of America, who served 26 months in Afghan, Helmand Province -- meaning he knows how to put up a fight!

Robbi is a healthy, fun-loving guy who does manatee and scuba diving tours at Bird’s Underwater in Crystal River, FL. As his cousin and a nurse practitioner, I noticed he had lost a lot of weight over a few months and urged him to go to the doctor to get lab work. His primary care doctor diagnosed him with type 2 diabetes which was very odd to me because his diet is not terrible and he is very active. He buckled down and got the diabetes under control, but something in his body still didn’t quite feel right. After several tests and scans, they diagnosed him with Stage 4 metastatic melanoma, a tumor was found between his pancreas and liver which they believe has caused type 2 diabetes and there is also a spot on his lung.

He has applied for financial assistance through the VA, but we are not sure how long that will take to be pushed through. His biggest supporter is his wife, Heavenly Stokes, who works as a waitress in Crystal River and will bear the financial burden while he begins chemo every three weeks for a minimum of four months.

I am researching different treatments to help him anyway I possibly can—even trials in other countries. This is where we need your help to donate, keep him in your prayers and SHARE THIS POST. Maybe someone, somewhere will find this and it could ultimately save a life!
