Marine Vet Runs For PTSD and Suicide Awareness

Tax deductible
Help support a Marine Combat Veteran, Sgt. James Scott, who is running the 47th Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) to honor fallen brothers and raise awareness about PTSD and suicide prevention in the veteran community.

James served with the 3rd Battalion 8 Marine Regiment (3/8), Weapons Company, from 2004 to 2008, and deployed to Iraq twice, to Fallujah in 2005 and Ramadi in 2006. During his deployments, 3/8 lost 25 Marines and sailors killed during combat operations. James is running the 47th MCM in their honor to raise awareness about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and suicide prevention in the veteran community. To do so, he hopes to raise $2,000 for 3/8 OIF & OEF Veterans Foundation, a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that provides financial and lifetime support and assistance to Post-9/11 Wounded Veterans and their families. Please help him reach his goal. All donations are tax-deductible.

James is running as part of the 3/8 OIF & OEF Veterans Foundation Running Team, which sponsors him through the Race/Sports Sponsorship Program. This 'recovery through sport' program applies a holistic approach to helping veterans heal by sponsoring veterans to participate in athletic activities.

About the Charity:

3/8 OIF & OEF Veterans Foundation is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that provides financial and lifetime support and assistance to 3rd Battalion 8th Marines Veterans, Post-9/11 Veterans, and their families. Many 3/8 and Post-9/11 veterans still suffer from physical, mental, and emotional wounds such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). We want to ensure they have the resources they need to recover from their injuries and transition back to civilian life. The 3/8 OIF & OEF Veterans Foundation team is made up of volunteer Marine Veterans from 3rd Battalion 8th Marines (3/8) who served during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), and our mission is very personal to each team member.
