Marine & Wildlife Conservation, Sri Lanka Aug 2024

I'm really excited to be going to Sri Lanka this summer as a volunteer for marine and wildlife conservation with Travelteer Impact, a UK registered charity which empowers under-developed communities and their environments around the world.

As many of you know, I am very passionate about sustainability. I am currently pursuing a degree in Global Sustainable Development at Warwick University. This trip allows me to get hands-on in a number of different areas. I will be supporting conservation efforts to remove plastic from beaches to protect wildlife from harm, help restore the rainforest by planting indigenous trees, and nurse turtles back to full health and release them back to the sea.

To help raise funds, on April 5th-6th, I will be doing the 4x4x48 challenge. This will involve running 4 miles non-stop, every 4 hours, for 48 hours straight - a distance equivalent to running almost 2 marathons in just 2 days! To put this in context, the longest distance I have ever run in one go is only about 4 miles... so it will be a real challenge doing my longest run, 12 times in a row on minimal sleep.

To achieve my funding target, I am hoping to raise £30 for every half mile I run. I would be really grateful if you could consider sponsoring me for as many half-miles as you are able!
