Hi Eeveryone !
My name is Sarah, I am Property Manager for hockingstuart Melton.
As some of you may know I ride bikes with a local and amazing group of people.
On Friday the 11th of August Mario just jumped on his bike like he always does, for a quick ride to Super Cheap Auto, but that ride was about to change his life.
While travelling along the high street, Mario was hit on the right-hand side by a car.
I had a call from my Husband that one of the boys had been involved in an accident just down from work, both Damien and I took off out of the office and to what was a confronting scene.
Upon arriving Mario was already been treated by the paramedics, few other riders from our club had arrived to help as well.
Mario was then Taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, with the number of painkillers we where forced to stop twice to stabilise him. His poor wife and family had no idea what had happened and waiting for an update, Upon arriving at the hospital where his brother and son were waiting we went in and waited for the news on the injuries, while there were no life-threatening injuries there were one that was about to change his life forever.

While waiting at the hospital for news His Brother and Son were allowed in to see him. His poor wife Michelle was at home, waiting for information.
On Friday night Mario underwent the 1 st lot of surgery to have his right ankle amputated.
On Saturday the 12th Mario met with the plastic surgeon to find out that he has more damage to his right leg. Meaning there was more Surgery to happen.
On Sunday after intense discussions with the team looking after Mario, the decision to remove Mario's leg from just below the kneecap was agreed on.

Within the next 24 -48 hrs Mario will undergo the surgery.
He will be in the hospital for many weeks to come and undergo treatment to help teach him to walk again, and other things we all take for granted.
While he is very lucky to be here and tell this story, he also now has to change his way of life and adapt to this.

With Mario now not being able to work for some time, Michelle has to travel in and out of the city to see him, having to make changes to their life, and car, this has caused huge stress to them.
Therefore, our office has made the go fund page to help with the one expense of rent.
All money raised through this page will be going straight to their rent so that they can worry about bigger things like Mario's Rehabilitation.
We are hoping to raise enough to cover 4 month's rent anything more is a bonus that will also go towards their rent.

Mario's family would like to express many thanks to everyone for the ongoing support of well wishes.
