***update***
I simply will never be able to express how grateful we are for the donations, kind comments, and remembrances of my little brother.  For those local to us, we will be holding a drive-by memorial on Thursday, June 4th from 5:00 - 6:30 PM.  Our address is 812 James Ave. St Paul, MN 55102.  ***

Mario Molaro, my baby brother, passed away unexpectedly on May 31st, 2020.  This is the sentence nobody ever wants to write about their family. He was just barely 40 years old.

Mario moved up to St Paul, Minnesota 5 years ago.  He was putting his life back together.  He lived just four houses away from me.    As I write these words, I find myself glancing over to the alley between us.  I so desperately want to see him come around the corner.  It's Tuesday morning.  Mario comes over on Tuesday morning.

Mario arrived in Minnesota with a single suitcase and a Tommy Boy-style garbage bag.  With all the pain, heartache, and darkness, Mario built a good life here.  He was so proud of the life he built here.  He was quick to point out that his IQ was 2-points higher than mine.  He was quick to point out that his salary was higher than mine even though he never graduated from college.

Mario landed a job with Caribou Coffee shortly after moving here.  He worked very hard and worked his way up to manager.  He loved working for Caribou (even though I wanted him to work for Starbucks).  I don't have a single memory of him without some type of Caribou apparel on.  Mario's grit was so deep that he navigated a number of buses and hours of his day to get to work.  He did this in the horrible Minnesota winters and without ever complaining.

Mario was proudest of having his daughter Savanna move up here.  He loved telling me how well she was doing in school.  How much progress she was making with life.  When she got her first job.  How he was going to beat up any guys that came near her.

Mario and I were polar opposites in many ways. We disagreed on politics, religion, policies, and just about everything else.  But we loved each other.  We loved to go to comedy shows.  We complained about how shitty the roads are in St Paul.  We camped together.  We saw each other twice a week for hours at a time.  He kindly watched my dogs every time Erika and I went out of town.  I am so proud of the life he built here.  I am grateful for the five years we had here.  I am really pissed off that it wasn't more.

Mario leaves behind his daughter Savanna - who will stay with us for the time being.  His two older brothers Dom, and I, an extensive in-law family and my wife.  He leaves behind a number of nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

I am asking you to chip in to help cover the costs of cremating a baby brother far too soon.  Anything left over will be used to cover Savanna's living expenses.
