Mario Zavala Medical Needs
Donation protected
Mario Zavala --a well known musician in the Southeast Side of Chicago and Northern Indiana areas-- was in a severe motorcycle accident over 35 years ago. It was only because of the excellent trauma center at Cook County Hospital that his leg was salvaged. Mario is losing this battle. After years of multiple surgeries, treatments and failing antibiotics the doctors have concluded the possibility of amputation.
Mario has such a kind and humorous demeanor you would never know that he has been living in pain and suffered most of his adult life.
Mario performs in many neighborhood bars and restaurants. You may recognize him wearing his distinctive Cowboy hat at Crowbar, Vlado's, R-Bar, Nick’s Tavern, Center Lounge, Shipwreck and Casa Del Mar just to name a few. Music has been his life for over 40 years performing with The BedBugs, The WayOuts, FORCE, Past Life and Mario Zavala and Friends. Mario has performed with other local artists such as Jeny Hunt, Sam Rivera, Phil Angotti, Dave Robles, Sergio Quiroga, Bob Cavazos, Paul Malchor etc. etc. etc…
We are all living in such an unknown and drastic time. As a self-employed musician it has been challenging but this added derailment has spiraled for Mario. There is no amount that is too small. Our immediate concerns are medical stability. Donate what you can, every little bit helps!
