Marisa lost her apartment to a fire & needs help!

Dear Reader,
I'm writing this gofundme for my friend, lifelong neighbor, and fellow artist, Marisa Morales, seen in the picture, who lost her apartment in Jackson Heights to a fire this past Saturday - April 16th, 2022.
The one-alarm fire devastated her unit in minutes, and she was lucky enough to arrive home in time to save her disabled mother, both of whom had lived in the same apartment since the 1980s. Included in the losses were personal items, electronics, clothing, furniture, and the most crushing of all - Marisa's entire art catalog and art supplies used for her youtube channel, Marisa's Moonlit Creations.
Unfortunately, the rent-stabilized apartment will not be habitable for another 5-6 months. During this time, Marisa and her disabled mother will need to find a place to stay that will force them to pay at least 5X more than they previously paid in rent for any location in Jackson Heights.
I can't imagine the feeling of loss and instability caused by losing your apartment to a fire, and I hope we can show Marisa and her mother that they are not alone during these challenging times. Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you can help support this cause as all funds will directly assist them in finding a temporary home until the unit is ready, as well as begin recovering lost property and ultimately, help Marisa start creating art again - something the world needs now, more than ever.
Thanks for reading, and please take care!
Sincerely,
ET
