Mark and Dixie Flood Relief
Donation protected
My brother and sister-in-law Mark and Dixie Alexander’s property and home flooded yesterday (3/8/21) due to the torrential rains and in Haiku, HI. Mark and his son Shawn were home when they saw a massive flood of water approaching. They grabbed what they could and evacuated to the community center.
Mark and Dixie are still unable to go to their house, but the physical loss so far includes: Toyota Tacoma truck, ATV buggy, refrigerator, freezers, tools, equipment, storage sheds, chickens, riding lawn mower, furniture, clothing and belongings that were washed away in the flood. There is severe structural damage to the house, garage, chicken coups and gazebo.
Mark found out this morning that they do not have flood insurance so we are starting a Go Fund Me page to try to help them get back on their feet.
My brother is one of the most humble, giving people around. He works as a delivery driver at Lowes and has a side business selling chicken eggs and chickens. He is the first to help anyone in need, and I am devastated for him to have lost what he has worked so hard for all his life.
The money raised will go to replacing items lost, rebuilding structures, cleaning and starting over again.
Mahalo for your kokua, thoughts and prayers for Mark and his family.
