Mark and Victor Klein Firefund
Donation protected
On Sunday, March 29, Maplewood resident Mark Klein and his son, Victor, who is 17, lost all of their possessions to a 4 alarm fire that destroyed the apartment building they were living in. Mark has lived in Maplewood for nearly 20 years. Mark is an over-the-road truck driver and Victor, a very sweet and avid NASCAR fan, incredible gamer, funny as all get out (per my daughter Lucy “Babe”) who is an awesome Junior at MRH High School.
Mark is thankful to still have his job during these uncertain times (and so are we!) as OTR truckers are very essential right now. He and his boss are working to get his vacation that was scheduled for later in April moved up to this week so he is able to be paid for taking time off to take care of matters in the aftermath of this horrific fire.
When I mentioned this fundraiser to Mark, he cried. He could not believe all the people that have reached out to him...from the MRH School District, to local church’s, total strangers from our great community of Maplewood; Mark and Victor have been very humbled and grateful for all of this. In addition to their heartbreaking situation, Mark’s long time companion Cathy, Victors mom, after having a stroke, found she had Stage 4 cancer and died just 2 years ago. This has been extremely difficult for the both of them.
We realize these are uncertain times for everyone. Having this happen during these already difficult times is heartbreaking. Lucy and I watched as this unfolded and was absolutely horrifying. If you could find it in your heart to donate and help Mark and Victor get back on their feet and setting up a new home, they would be extremely grateful. Mark & Victor are very thankful and appreciative of your support.
No one ever expects something like this to happen to them. If you could please join us, any help that you can afford right now would be greatly appreciated by Mark and Victor.
Thank you in advance!
