Loving Memory of Mark Andrew Bolton
Died November 21, 2024, Age 66
Hello, my name is Steven Szelid, and I am reaching out to share the story of an extraordinary man, Mark Andrew Bolton. On November 21 2024, we lost Mark after a long, courageous battle with cancer and heart disease. He was 66 years old and leaves behind a legacy of humour, knowledge, and kindness that will never be forgotten.
Mark was the kind of person who could light up any room with his infectious smile and quick wit. No matter how hard things got—whether battling cancer or undergoing gruelling treatments—Mark always managed to keep a smile on his face. He would joke with the nurses, lighten the mood in the hospital, and keep everyone around him laughing, even in the most difficult moments. His incredible humour and positivity were a balm for those who cared for him. He made even the hardest places feel like a joyful spot to be.
But it wasn't just his humor that made Mark so special—it was his wealth of knowledge. Mark had an astounding grasp of history, politics, and pop culture, especially his deep love for British history, the monarchy, boxing, and horses. He could tell stories that would captivate anyone, always sharing his "yarns" with an energy and enthusiasm that made them feel alive. His passion for learning was unparalleled, and no one could leave a conversation with Mark without feeling like they'd just learned something important or heard a fascinating tale.
During his treatments, Mark often brought this knowledge to the fore, sharing facts and stories that kept people engaged and entertained. Whether it was talking about the history of the Queen or recounting political events, Mark's insights were sharp and full of life, always delivered with the same dry humor that made him so beloved. His stories made people think, made them laugh, and often left them in awe of his intellect and wit.
Mark was a true fighter, facing every challenge with remarkable strength, never losing his sense of humour, even when the going got tough. But despite his strength and independence, Mark did not have the financial resources to cover his funeral costs, and we’re hoping to raise funds to ensure he is given the send-off he truly deserves. It’s heartbreaking to think of Mark having a government-funded funeral, a fate he would have never wanted after all he gave to others.
This is where we need your help. We are raising funds to cover the costs of Mark’s funeral and memorial service, ensuring that we can celebrate his life properly—the way he would have wanted: with laughter, love, and respect for the incredible person he was.
Mark was not just a fighter; he was a friend, a teacher, and a beacon of joy to everyone he met. His legacy of kindness, humour, and knowledge will continue to live on in all of us who had the Honor of knowing him. Please consider contributing to help us honor Mark’s memory and give him the farewell he truly deserves.
Thank you so much for your support during this difficult time. Your kindness means the world to those of us who loved him.
May Mark rest in peace, knowing his stories, his laughter, and his lessons will live on.
