Opportunity to Help Mark Bohaty With Medical Bills

On July 28, 2023 Mark was on his way home from visiting his daughters in Kearney - he was helping his youngest with apartment restoration - when he fell ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. They discovered a gallstone had set off a very serious bout of pancreatitis, which put Mark in the hospital for 18 days, 8 of which were spent in ICU.
Since that initial visit, there have been numerous surgeries, complications, infections and challenges on the way back to health. Over the past 7 months, Mark has spent 91 days (and counting) in hospitals in Lincoln and Omaha. Between hospitalizations, procedures and recovery, Mark has been unable to work since July.
Mark is the very first person to volunteer his time and talents to help family, friends, neighbors and strangers. The day before his illness, he was trimming trees in his parents’ yard, helping his brother with an improvement project and sanding floors in his daughter’s apartment - all a normal day for Mark!
While Mark is the first person to offer a helping hand, he is also the last one to ask. These last few months have been a challenging reminder that life is precious and each day brings new struggles and new hope.
