Mark Brito Recovery Fund

As I am sure you are well aware, our friend Mark Brito was involved in a shooting that occurred on January 2, 2017.  Mark was shot just above his right eye and there was no exit wound.  The bullet fragments have caused serious damage to his brain and brain stem.  Despite this horrendous situation, Mark has shown tremendous strength and determination and is defying all odds.   He has moved all four extremities, has responded to doctors through squeezing his left hand and is feeling pain in the right side of his body.  He is practically breathing on his own and the medical staff anticipates that his progression will warrant the removal of the ventilator in the upcoming days. With that being said, his journey towards recovery is far from over.   Mark will likely face multiple surgeries and rehabilitation in the future and it is difficult to determine how long he will remain in the hospital. 

Anyone who knows Mark knows that he would give the shirt off his back to a complete stranger in need.  He is in this situation because he was simply trying to help out a friend.  When the incident occurred, he rushed to help his friend who was being shot at instead of running away to save himself.  That alone speaks volumes about his character and selflessness. 

Now it is our time to help our friend in need.  We are asking for you to generously support Mark and his family in this time of distress.  Not only is this situation taking an emotional toll on everyone involved, Mark is receiving intense medical care which comes at a substantial cost.  Any donation is greatly appreciated and we also ask that everyone continue to pray for his recovery.
