My name is Alex Love and I’m doing this for one of my best friends whom I consider a brother. On 12-22-23 he was admitted to McLaren Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. It was the surgeons opinion that he had to have surgery for an obstruction however during the procedure they found no blockages. Proceeded to throw up nonstop for two days. They put in a nasal drainage tube and took out 2 liters a day for two weeks. Went from 200lbs to 136lbs in a matter of two months. After 44 days in Lansing they sent him to the Cleveland Clinic. They did a blood test and found out that he has a rare blood clotting disorder. That along with and he cannot be operated on until his BP is stable and he has more strenght. He is now in PT rehab for 4 weeks in hope that he will regain his strength. After that if he is stable they will operate again and put in a temporary colostomy bag. He has spent 71 day so far in a hospital on a liquid diet only. We was a brilliant Chef at Michigan State University for more that 16 years however now all his sick, vacation and personal time has been used and he is unable to receive any disability pay until June. It will be at least 6 weeks until he can have the procedures done which will include a small intestine transplant and more rehab baring his health improves.
