Mark Cross

Hi, Dear friends, Mark Cross has left his mark on so many of us. If you’ve ever got a tattoo from Mark, visited his shop Rose Tattoo Parlour, went to his gallery Muddguts, or just got a kind word and smile from him, if he has touched your life in a positive way, we are asking for your help, today. Mark was born with a congenital heart defect and underwent a successful open heart surgery, replacing 2 valves, nine years ago. Unfortunately, one of the valves that was replaced was recently destroyed after a mis-diagnosis allowed for a tenacious blood infection to run rampant, wreaking havoc on marks heart, lungs, and spine causing “torrential leakage” of the valve, a constant stream of fluid in his lungs causing incessant fits of coughing which amplify the excruciating pain from the swelling in his spine, and limited to zero mobility. As a result, Mark has been unable to work and provide for himself for the past 3 months. Mark is now, thankfully, working closely with a skilled cardiologist and heart surgeon to create a comprehensive plan for repairing his failing heart and addressing the life-threatening damage done by the infection and subsequent heart-failure. While Mark has health insurance coverage via medicaid (which started just days before his first hospitalization!) his inability to walk has caused the costs of transportation to-and-from hospitals, doctors appointments, pharmacies, physical therapy, etc. to be substantial. Moreover, his inability to work has placed a significant strain on meeting his basic living expenses, possibly for a really long time to come. We have launched this GoFundMe campaign to provide vital support to Mark as he recovers from the damage done by his blood infection and undergoes multiple heart surgeries and recoveries. Your contributions will help cover his living expenses and provide a sense of stability and, what’s more, relief from the stresses of financial insecurity as he focuses on regaining his health.
