Mark DeRoche Memorial
Donation protected
The world lost one of it’s greatest men on September 21st, 2020.
Mark DeRoche took his final breath on Monday while holding his wife's hand with his immediate family surrounding him in his home in Allen Park, Michigan. Mark was a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, neighbor, coach, mentor and a friend.
He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April of 2019. He fought endlessly through surgeries, chemotherapy, doctors appointments and pain. Over this past summer of 2020, they unfortunately learned that the cancer had metastasized and that there was nothing else that could be done. Mark chose to heroically spend his last days on earth in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.
If you knew Mark, you knew that his family meant everything to him. Christopher and Katelyn, his son and daughter, were the apples of his eyes. From stay at home dad to hockey coach; everything he did in his life, he did it for them. And then came Giuliana, his granddaughter. Everything within him lit up the moment he laid eyes on her. Through marriage, he gained another son and grandson whom he loved very much as well: John and Logan.
Mark had his blushing bride, Carol, of 39 and a half years to thank for his beautiful family. On Mark’s final day, Carol held him and talked with him while playing their wedding song and told him that this was their beginning, not the end. For she will be with him once again one day.
As the days go by without Mark in their lives, his family will continue to grieve. One thing they should not have to worry about are the endless medical bills that have arose from his care and treatments. In Mark’s honor and memory, this gofundme is an effort to help ease the burden off of the family to allow them the proper grieving.
Any amount is so greatly appreciated. As previously stated, donations will be used for medical bills as well as put towards a memorial for Mark. Mark loved to golf. The family plans to have a golf memorial near his birthday in the spring of 2021.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness. The DeRoche family truly appreciates it.
May Mark rest in peace, remain in our hearts and continue to watch over us all.
