Mark Drok - Snowboarding Accident
Donation protected
On Friday, December 23, Mark was in a horrific snowboarding accident and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was found unconscious by ski patrol under a snow blower with a fractured skull and bleeding arm. Since no one saw the accident, first responders had no idea how he got there or how long he had been laying there, bleeding out. Because of his unresponsive state, Mark was sedated, intubated, and rushed to the nearest trauma hospital. He underwent a craniotomy to repair his fractured skull, as well as drain a large pool of blood that had accumulated near his brain.
Mark suffered severe brain trauma. Even after successful surgery, doctors were not optimistic about Mark's prognosis. Once the doctors turned their attention to the rest of Mark's body, they discovered a deep cut on his right arm, and a fractured right ankle.
On January 1st, Mark shocked everyone by regaining consciousness! Since then he has made progress daily. Mark is now able to breathe, eat, and drink on his own. He is starting to get out of bed and hop (due to his broken ankle) with the help of a walker.
Due to the severity of Mark's injuries (traumatic brain injury, open fracture of the skull, and acute blood loss), personalized rehabilitation is a necessity.
We believe God has already performed a miracle, as Mark is still alive. Please continue praying as the doctors are not certain if he will be able to make a full recovery without permanent brain damage.
If you can, please help Mark and his family. He has a long and challenging road to recovery ahead and will need his family to assist him in caring for himself physically and emotionally. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated! Thank you all.
