Mark Ehrenburg & his family

Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Alisa D’Andrea, Anna’s sister and Mark Ehrenburg’s sister in law. Unfortunately on Friday November 24th Mark fell from his tree stand and needed to be medevaced to Morristown hospital. He suffers from a broken spine and a broken vertebrae. He underwent surgery late last night and we were informed that it is going to be a long recovery once he leaves the hospital. He will then have to be in rehab for what the doctor said could take 1 month to a year. For those of you who know Mark personally you know he will not be able to do all of the things he does on the daily for not only his family but himself as well. Anna would like the kids (Gianna, Mia & Jack) to not have their life change so drastically since their father will not be coming home for a while and the holidays are right around the corner. My wish is to eliminate any kind of extra stress during this difficult time. I decided to start a gofundme to help with all the expenses to come. It will be a long recovery but we all know Mark is a hero & a fighter who puts his life on the line every single day without any hesitation to help anyone in need. He will overcome everything and anything thrown his way with a great support system of everyone cheering him on along the way! Thank you from the bottom of my families heart for all the texts & calls. We love you all & appreciate the support. I started a food train if anyone would like to donate food please contact me I will give you their address ❤️https://mealtrain.com/m3ww5k

Anna asked if I could please post this here for all of you amazing people❤️

Wow, I always knew we were deeply blessed with amazing friends and family but the endless help and support we have received these past few days has been overwhelmingly beautiful. Our world changed in a split second. One minute I was making my family dinner and Mark was coming in to eat with us and then we had plans to drink some wine and watch Home Alone with the kiddos. But he never made it inside. I was on the phone with 911. The only way I can describe it is, I felt as if I was I frozen in place and everyone else around me was running full speed. The Blairstown Police, State Police and Paramedics were all here within minutes. The ambulance right after them. Everyone running back and forth from their vehicles to the dark cold woods, one of the men took his coat off and laid it over my shoulders. Once they had Mark on his way to the airport they collected his belongings that were left in the woods and put them somewhere safely. In the moment I thought “oh I really don’t care about that stuff it can rot in the woods right now” but little did I know, one of the first things Mark asked me when I saw him again was “you got my bow right?” I said “no babe, I didn’t but some man out there knew you would want it and put it in the garage for you”
My parents rushed to my house to calm the kids down, finished making them dinner and played games and watched that movie with them. My sister and Tony drove me straight to the hospital and never left my side. God bless my sister, I would crumble without her. While I still felt frozen in place, I see the doctors and nurses making Mark comfortable. They’re explaining to me that he broke his spine and they’re going to perform surgery right away. Tony’s right there dumbing down everything for me so I can understand what’s going on. I swear you can turn your brain off whenever you’re with that man because he’s got it covered. Next thing I knew I was kissing Mark and telling him I’ll see him soon as they rolled him into the OR. Marks sister Kate and her husband Kevin sat in a waiting room unable to see any of us for hours on end. Kinnelon PD and their families made sure to let me know, we’re not in this alone. Marks Chief sat with us for hours until Mark was in recovery. They bumped fists and my eyes teared up. Then all of you come into play. I cannot thank everyone enough for all the phone calls, well wishes, support, words of encouragement, the go fund me and the meal train. Like I said, I always knew we were deeply blessed with the best people but this is surely an eye opener. You’re not the “best” people, you’re all Angels and we are so thankful. So from the bottom of our hearts please know all of this is GREATLY appreciated and it’s not going unseen.
Marks surgery went exactly as planned. He’s gaining mobility in his legs slowly but surely and his surgeons are optimistic that he will walk again. This is going to be a long road and it’s going to suck but me, Mark and the kids have our angels to laugh with, cry with and help us along the way and man are we lucky.
THANK YOU!
