Funeral and Family Funds for Mark Garza

It is with broken hearts that we share the news of Mark's passing. He slipped away last night at home. Viewing and funeral dates have not yet been set.

Dear friends, family, and community members,

We are coming together to support one of our friends, Mark Garza, in his fight against stage 4 pancreatic cancer. When diagnosed last spring, the cancer had already metastasized all over his body. Over the past 11 months Mark has been through two rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, two spine surgeries, and an IT pump insertion. He additionally suffered two bouts of pneumonia that caused hospitalization. Despite his valiant fight, the pain and permanent damage has escalated so immensely that Mark is now in hospice care, approaching the end of his fight.

Mark has been a devoted employee, a loving father of five children, and a doting grandfather of three grandchildren. Throughout this fight, Mark kept on his duties at work, as a father, and husband, the best he could, astonishingly still with his nodes of silly humor, efficiency, and special care. However more, the radiation on his spine caused it to shrink, become weak, and collapse in on itself. The pain is unimaginable. He is currently in hospice care with a pain pump and his sweetheart Molly by his side.

We are starting this GoFundMe fundraiser to help Mark and his family during this difficult time, and beyond. The funds raised will go towards Mark's medical expenses, including hospice care, medication, and other necessary treatments. Additionally, the funds will help Molly cover the costs of future living expenses while she cares for their dependents still at home.

Mark has always been a hardworking, selfless person who would never ask for help. However, now he needs our support. Your donations will go a long way in helping Mark and his family during this trying time. No amount is too small, and every little bit helps.
