Mark Gomes battling Coronavirus on ventilator

My name is Jason. I am sharing my brother-in-law’s story.
Mark Gomes is a father, husband, brother, uncle, coach and leader in his community. His ready smile, warm personality and loving light are felt by all who are blessed to know him. Many times, I have personally watched him sacrifice his time to invest in the kids he constantly mentors, coaches, and inspires. 

My sister, Brittany Gomes, is a hospital nurse and loving mother and wife. Brittany is the perfect match for Mark, as they both share a common thread of caring for and loving all the people in their lives and community. They have two beautiful children, Tate, age 13, and Gia, age 8.  

Over the last few weeks, their life has changed tragically. As a dedicated hospital nurse, Brittany had been tirelessly caring for her patients even while at risk of being exposed to Coronavirus herself. Things came much closer to home when Mark started feeling poorly and developed a high fever. After a chest x-ray revealed that Mark’s lungs were in dire shape, he was admitted to the hospital for closer monitoring and oxygen therapy. With his compromised lung function, he deteriorated rapidly and is now in an induced coma and on a ventilator. Mark has had asthma his entire life which makes his condition more critical. While in ICU, Mark’s COVID-19 test result came back positive. 

Because of Mark’s Coronavirus diagnosis, he is quarantined and not allowed to have visitors, even his own family. Brittany is quarantined at home while awaiting her own COVID-19 test result. Her days are filled with fear and anxiety.

With Mark in the hospital and Brittany in quarantine, they have no income and the medical bills are mounting. This is my respectful request.
