Hi my name is Joanne and I’m doing this fundraiser on behalf of my dad that sadly passed away on the 1st November 2024. He was a devoted father to 6 children myself Joanne Troy Jason bradley mark and Courtney and beloved husband of Lorraine. Our dad went into Mildura based hospital in June this year with the same complications my dad died of. Without doing tests nor scans he was sent on his with with a diagnosis of a uti they inserted catheter and sent him home with antibiotics. Only 3 months later he was rushed back via ambulance with kidney failure. Upon having surgery to put in a stint from his bladder to his kidney discovered our dad was riddled with cancer. While our dad was in hospital my mum Lorraine was also taken in with pneumonia to same hospital. Over the Time of dad being there he was going downhill. 8.30pm on the 1st November my dad passed away with no one by his side. The hospital knew dad was going downhill quickly and said nothing to family nor did they even take his wife in and let her say her goodbyes. On the contacts list was his wife Lorraine Lorraine son tommy myself and my older brother. The only person that got contacted was my brother Tommy. My dads wife Lorraine finally got told at 11.30pm and taken to my dad to whom was stone cold. We had our rights taken away to say our goodbyes. So many unanswered questions as to why. Our dad was such a loving man. He was married to mum Lorraine for 17 years. Dad was the kind of man that would give his shirt off his back to help anyone in any which way he could. Our dad was a one eyed Collingwood supporter who was passionate about his team. Dad also loved his trucks if only dad could go on one last ride in a truck that would be the biggest blessing. Dad was also a animal lover and absolutely loved his German shepherd’s. We are reaching out to the wider community with the possibility of any kind of help big or small to help with funeral costs. Upon ringing around to organise dads funeral we were told We are looking around the $9000 mark for him to be cremated. Dad is currently at the morgue at Mildura base hospital until such time we can organise his funeral. Thank you all so very much
