Donate to support Mark Kuhnel's funeral fund

Hello,

My name is Chelsea and I am fundraising to support my stepfather, Mark Kuhnel, and my mother, Muguette Kuhnel with Mark's growing medical bills, cancer treatments, and his battle with Stage 4 cancer.

I am reaching out with heartfelt urgency to invite you to this fundraiser aimed at supporting my stepfather in his courageous battle against cancer. As a beloved member of our family, Mark, as well as my loving mother, Mickey, have been facing immense challenges both physically, emotionally, and financially since his diagnosis in 2021. In the past 2 years, Mark has undergone multiple major surgeries and procedures in relation to his illness.

The burden of medical bills, even with health insurance, has added an additional layer of stress to an already difficult journey. My Mom has stood by Mark, is his main caretaker, and has been by his side through every tireless overnight hospital stay, every surgery, and every chemotherapy appointment in order to support him. Mark is now unable to work due to his declining health, leaving my Mom as the sole and main financial provider of the household. She frequently relies on PSL (Which has now run out), often times missing out on days of work (Without pay) to ensure that he is getting the proper medical care. By contributing to this fundraiser, you will directly assist in easing the financial strain that unfortunately comes with a cancer diagnosis. Together, we can offer Mark hope, love, and the support he needs as he fights against this relentless disease.

Your generosity will make a significant impact, allowing us to focus on his well-being and provide him with the best chance at recovery and ensure that he can continue to access the treatments and care that he requires. Your compassion and generosity can help bring hope and healing to Mark and our family and loved ones during his fight.

Mark has been a staple of light in his community of Kingston, NY for his entire adult life, and a person who dedicated his free time to support and dedicate himself to that community in more ways than one, including being a dedicated firefighter and at one point, fire commissioner. He is a wonderful husband, father, and friend.

My parents are humble individuals who did not ask me to do this. If anyone knows Mark and my Mom personally, they know that both of them are kind and wholehearted individuals who do not seek help from others, but instead would give the shirts off of their backs to anyone in need, without expecting anything in return. They are always there for me, and right now, it is my turn to be there for them. Mark, while not my biological father, has treated my brother and I like his own children from day one, loves us unconditionally, and we are proud to call him Dad.

Donations collected will be used specifically for help with outstanding medical bills, co-pays, transportation to and from Mark's appointments at Sloan-Kettering in New York City (Which usually average 3+ times per week), medications, future appointments, procedures, and or surgeries.

Anything helps, and my goal is to alleviate some of the financial pressures faced by cancer on both Mark and my Mom. Even if you are unable to donate due to the burdens of our current economy, in lieu of a contribution, we are asking that you please share this fundraiser through your social media platforms and spread the word to your family and friends. Even a share means more than you know.
