Mark & Margaret Fire Recovery
Donation protected
A week before Christmas Mark Harmon lost his television sportscasting job. It was an enormous and unexpected blow. Then on Saturday, March 4, Mark and his wife Margaret lost everything they had to a fire. Two precious statues, including one of Jesus, survived the intense heat. All else, including their beloved dog, Buddy, was lost. They are heartbroken. They have their car, the clothes they were wearing that day, their commitment to each other and their faith. That’s it.
Actually, there is one more thing they have – the support of loving friends and a community to help pull them through this situation. They are determined to recover from this loss, but there are complicating matters. Margaret has been extremely ill in recent years and is unable to work. Since the devastating news Mark received at Christmas, he has been diligently searching for employment.
They belong to Holy Cross Catholic Church where they have been active members for nearly 20 years. Mark is a fixture in the Atlanta sports community, working for many years at WGNX, and later becoming the popular host of GPB’s statewide high school football, basketball and gymnastics coverage. Despite the hardships they face, their deep faith in the miracle of God is unshaken.
Mark & Margaret are determined to put the pieces of their lives back together. In the interim, they could use support to get back on their feet and set up a home base as Mark continues his job search. Like most folks, they are accustomed only to giving aid, not receiving it. But now they need help, and what they need more than anything is money. Won’t you please consider generously contributing? It takes just a click of your mouse and entering your credit or debit card number. All transactions are guaranteed by the website to be safe. Thank you for your kindness.
