My husband's Mark story is not very unique as it is simply aligned with the story of this country. Almost 20 years ago, he came to the United States from Belarus in quest for the better life. Things were working for Mark, as he started his working career, then we found each other, our daughter Leya was born, we got our first house and our cat Chandler, then came our son Eli - the "American dream" you can say.
Normal life came to the crushing halt when Mark was diagnosed with brain cancer 4 years ago. The house had to go, and non-stop medical treatments became the sour reality of our lives.
After these 4 years, Mark lost his long battle. I know that more than anything else, Mark would want his kids to have good education - and we all know how challenging this can be, and this is why I created this campaign. Every dollar here will be spent on the kids education, so they would be able to have the future Mark always wanted them to have.
