Help Mark Robinson fight Cancer
Donation protected
Hi my name is James Humphries and I am
starting a gofund me campaign to try and raise
funds to help a very close mate of mine who is fighting cancer and help support his beautiful family.
You probably already know Mark aka Robbo, but for those of you who don’t, here is a quick intro.
First and foremost, he is the incredible (overachieving) Dad to two beautiful girls Ruby (11) and
Beau (5) and amazing husband to Dena.
His energy is the kind we all wish we had!
He will talk to anyone about anything and is
guaranteed to make a new friend during every
outing. He is always busy, on his boogie board,
taking the girls to the beach, renos on the house, perfecting his crema, wheeling and dealing,
refurbing a bmx (as you do) or randomly going
for a run to buy coffee beans 4 suburbs away. He is “that” guy.
Shockingly, Mark was diagnosed with advanced Oesophageal cancer late last year which he learned is inoperable as it had already metastasised.
Up until a few weeks ago he had been on a clinical trial receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy (immuno is not avail as standard care for this cancer in Aus). Unfortunately his oncologist took him off the trial because it wasn’t working and
the disease had been progressing. He has now
started second line chemotherapy which will be every fortnight for the next 6 months or longer.
Whilst it is so hard to ask for help (Mark and Dena have both put it off for as long as they could),
they know they need it. Mark has already scaled his work right back and will now have to wait and see how he goes to decide if he is able / wants to work at all. He is in constant pain and the
fatigue is next level already.
He will also be attempting alternative treatments which unfortunately are very expensive. But, he wants to throw as much as he can at this nightmare of a disease. Not to mention the cost of
standard medication to manage his pain and
symptoms. All this, while Dena continues to
work full time, basically playing it by ear as both have exhausted all of their leave options.
Mark and Dena know everyone is struggling in
these crazy times, and they don’t want anyone
to put themselves out… But if you can offer a
donation, Mark, Dena and their families would
be eternally grateful as it would help them so
much.
It would ease some of the financial pressure so
they can focus on getting Mark better.
As well as the opportunity to prioritise their time together as a family, making memories and
cherishing every moment. ❤️❤️
