Mark Ross Stroke Fund
Donation protected
The photo you see was taken less than five months ago, on our wedding day. It was a perfect day, filled with love and laughter among friends and family in our backyard. On July 29, my new husband suffered a stroke, specifically an ischemic bilateral thalmic stroke of the basal ganglia. This type of stroke is rare and usually fatal, with a 2% survival rate. Mark was lucky, in spite of having spent over twelve hours alone before receiving treatment. We are home now and adjusting to yet another "new normal" filled with a team of doctors, case managers, and therapists. Mark will have five types of therapy, three to four days a week, plus cardiologist appointments and opthamologist appointments throughout the foreseeable future. Mark is self-employed. He will not be able to work for three months or more as we navigate this path to his recovery. As a result, we will not have his much needed income. We are anticipating thousands of dollars in medical costs, even after insurance pays, plus our regular monthly bills. Any funds raised through this campaign will be used toward household costs, other regular bills, and any medical bills not covered by insurance. If you cannot give, we ask for prayers. Your care and support in either form will make an impact. We appreciate your support and well wishes, but we ask that phone calls to Mark be limited. Feel free to contact me on messenger, facebook, or through GoFundMe. I will provide updates as often as possible. If you feel comfortable, we would appreciate you sharing this. - Gina Ross
