Mark Williamson Care Fund

Hey everyone, as many of you know, our beloved hero of a dad and incredible world renowned musician, Mark Williamson, has been battling Parkinson's Disease for 20+ years, diagnosed at only 45. We've been trying to relocate him back to L.A. with us from Nashville for a few years and we finally got him out here in July. We were so excited to be with our dad again, this was everything he had been talking about for so long. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and took a turn for the worse when my dad arrived at his nursing home. He arrived at the airport happy, walking, and talking, and after a week at the nursing home, he was completely different. He was unable to speak, walk, or open his eyes. He spent nearly 2 months in this state, and lost around 20 pounds. As of early September, he is beginning to talk and be more alert again! We're still working on trying to get him to sit up on his own and hopefully when he is no longer as frail, walking again.

The last few weeks have been a bit of a setback, he was rushed to the emergency room and almost immediately intubated because of pneumonia and MRSA (infection of the blood, likely from the nursing home he was at). The doctors were preparing us for the worst because his breathing was labored, his oxygen dropped below 80, and had high fevers for weeks. Luckily, due to the amazing care he has been receiving at Cedar-Sinai Hospital and his will to keep fighting, he is finally recovering from this pneumonia. He has been on IV fluids/nutrients and yesterday he had his first meal in 3 weeks!! He was so excited, we are all so excited and feeling hopeful. He is beginning to start singing along to music again and has been able to have little conversations with us. It feels as if hearing him hum along and say he loves us again can heal the world. He means everything to us, he's our hero.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for his illness. We just want to make the remainder of the time he has left comfortable, safe, and happy. Due to the fact that the facility he is currently at has hundreds of patients, not enough staff, and many illnesses going around from outside visitors and staff, we urgently need to move him to a smaller and safer home because one more setback could be fatal; he is extremely frail right now.

We are asking for any financial contribution you are able to give towards Mark's medical care in a safe, supportive, stimulating environment. He needs total assist care as he has not been able to walk or sit up for nearly 3 months, it is possible this is his new normal. He is someone who has showed up for and given everything to others his entire life, everyone who knows him can attest to his gentle and kind-hearted nature. He is the most talented, beautiful, empathetic, hilarious, humble, and kind man on earth.

Please share with anyone you know who has been touched by our father's heart and talent. We are sharing this with the people he loves and treasures most all over the world. We just want our dad here with us, happy for as long as possible. We are cherishing every moment we have with him, and are humbly asking for your gracious help with our Dad's medical care. We still have milestones we want to reach with him by our sides! Adam just started his senior year on the soccer team, Olivia just started at her dream school UCLA, and Danielle is starting her music career with her dad as her inspiration. Every penny will go towards his medical care and bills.

Thank you so much, we love you so much. You all are family to us and to our Dad.

Love,
The Williamson's
