Mark's "Beat Cancer" Fund

My name is Michael Ursini, my son Matthew and I have established this fund in the name of Mark Anair.

Mark is a Dedicated Dad and Hockey parent that is well known and respected in the youth hockey community.

Mark is faced with a life threatening challenge and fight that will test the very core of both himself and those who choose to support him as has been diagnosed with Stage IV Prostrate Cancer.

As a long term member of the hockey community (primarily CT and NY) I’ve had the distinct pleasure of having Mark Aniar as a dear friend and a mentor to my son Matthew.

To know Mark is to know that he is an extremely unselfish and genuine disposition. He is a man that I and so many others have a great deal of admiration for. Mark has done an exemplary job in his role a committed dad to his amazing son, Victor. Victor is an '02 and one of the top players to come out of CT. He is a fine young man who has managed to excel academically, as well as, athletically. His future is bright and well earned.      

I invite those who know and respect Mark for his dedication and contribution to the sport of hockey but also to every young player he has ever watched, met or trained to join me in supporting Mark’s battle by making a monetary contribution to this fund for his medical expenses and extenuating circumstances as he is unable to work and sustain the financial burden that this unexpected news has placed on him and his loved ones.

The proceeds from this fund will be escrowed and subsequently allocated  for the purpose of subsidizing Mark's medical expenses. 

As a member of the hockey community for many years, I am well aware of the unity amongst parents and players alike. Therefore, I am certain that we can rally in support of Mark and his fight against this horrible condition so that he can, by the generosity, prayers and support, have the opportunity to see all the young players, he has influenced for many years, become all that they can be, giving him the ultimate sense of gratification.
