Markaz Anas - Anas Khalif Foundation
Donation protected
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
On the 7th of July 2021, our beloved brother Anas Khalif passed away after a long and difficult trial with cancer. Following his passing, the amount of love that poured in from the Muslim community caught us by surprise. Friends of the Khalif family opened a Gofundme page and over the last year approximately £25, 000 has been raised; Allahu Akbar!
As a family, we took some time to decide how to best honour our beloved Anas' memory and how best we could honour the donors who kindly contributed to Sadaqah Jaariyah for him. During this time we were grappling with the grief of his passing and the gaping hole of his absence.
It is said that grief is love with no place to go. So we decided to build something into which we could pour our overwhelming love. Something that could benefit him in the afterlife, benefit the less fortunate here in this dunya and be a vessel for our love.
Thus the Anas Khalif Foundation was born. Currently, a non-profit organisation that will be eventually registered with the Charity Commission. Through this organisation we hope to continue to do acts of charity in his memory. For this current project we are working with Gargaar Charity Organization (a registered charity).
Using the money from the first gofundme campaign and money donated from within our family we have been able to start a large scale project in a small town called Raaso. With the initial funds and further donations from within our family we have been able to buy a large plot of land on which we are building a hub for the local community. Members of this local community do not have a masjid nearby, nor any educational facilities. Markaz Anas will have a large masjid, upon the manhaj of the Salaf-us-Saalih and will be 1 of only 2 masaajid in the town with a women-only section. It will also have a madrasa with 20 classrooms.
As you can imagine, this is a significant long-term project that will require a lot of funding and time. We have done as much as possible with the funds we had initially but now need to campaign for further funding to continue to build upon the foundations.
You can read more about Anas' story here:
Part 1: Anas the Patient
Part 2: Anas the Patient 2
The Prophet ﷺ said: “When a person dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, or beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who will pray for him.”
“Those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah and then do not follow up what they have spent with reminders [of it] or [other] injury will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve”. [2:262] Al-Baqarah.
We appreciate any of your kind and generous donations.
We ask Allah to reward everyone who has contributed with a house in Jannatul Firdaws. May Allah grant you happiness and success in this life and in the hereafter. May Allah protect you and your families from hardship and pain. May He increase your ranks in the hereafter. May He honour, love and bless you and your families.
May Allah forgive our beloved brother Anas, may Allah have mercy on his soul. May Allah make his grave a garden from the gardens of paradise. May Allah love him more than we loved him.
