Texas Man Lost Everything inTornado
Hello. My name is Rebecca Siekmann, I live in Fort Worth with my husband Christopher. I met Mr. Mark Dion last December when I walked into an RV dealership in Mesquite, Texas to check out a Shasta Airflyte Reissue. I had been to several other dealerships, but I ended up buying my Airflyte that very day because not only was Mr. Dion softspoken, kind and honest, but he also told me that once I buy from him, I would forever be a part of his "RV family." He said I would be treated right during the sale AND well after the sale. Mr. Dion kept that promise.
Not long after our purchase, my husband Chris and I were gearing up for our first camping trip in our beloved "Lucy." But something went haywire with the door and we could not open it with the key. Mr. Dion had given me his personal cell phone number and told me to call or text him with any questions - no matter what time of day or night. That type of customer service is rare these days, and I didn't believe it until it happened. When I called him to seek advice for my broken door, he immediately hired a locksmith and sent them to my address. He paid for it himself over the phone with his debit card. My husband and I were shocked. Unfortunately, that locksmith had to drill out the entire lock and we were left with no way to lock our Lucy up again. When Mr. Dion heard that, he made a two-hour round trip to my home to change the lock himself. And it was his day off! My husband and I were beyond shocked.
I remember thinking that was the best customer service I had ever received. I left him a glowing review on Google Reviews and kept in contact with him thereafter. Mr. Dion loved receiving photos of my husband and I camping in Lucy, and always ended his textual exchanges with a "God bless you." He said couples like us, who truly enjoy RVing, is the reason he loves his job.
I found out tonight that Mr. Dion lost his dwelling and everything in it, during the horrible tornados that ripped through North Texas yesterday evening. Being a true RV lover, he lived in a 32 footer, nestled comfortably at the lovely Plantation RV Park in Sunnyvale, Texas. The park sustained horrific damage and Mr. Dion's home is a total loss, as is his nearby storage unit and all the belongings therein. Thankfully, Mr Dion was at church when the tornado appeared, and he was unharmed.
I am asking for any amount to help this good man, and I hope to exceed my goal of $2,000 for his sake. I know it's a hard time, being a few days after Christmas, and finances may be tight. But please imagine losing your entire home and everything inside, and consider donating just $5, the cost of a Starbucks. It will help more than you know. Mr. Dion will use these funds to help rebuild his life, and start the process of acquiring a new home.
Thank you. And as Mr. Dion would say, "Thank you, and God Bless."
