Mark Rappleye - Heart Surgery Recovery & Medical Expenses
Donation protected
The unimaginable happened on Christmas day when Mark's daughter, Aubrei, suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Mark performed CPR which saved her life. After being life-flighted to Primary Children's Hospital, she was admitted to the ICU. Miraculously, Aubrei recovered but continues to require testing and treatment with considerable ongoing medical care.
Two weeks ago, Mark suffered his own devastating health setback. After undergoing several tests, it was determined major open-heart surgery is needed to repair his mitral valve along with other necessary heart-related procedures. The surgery is scheduled for April 30th.
He faces a difficult road ahead - not just the physical and emotional challenges of recovery, but also the overwhelming financial burden of additional medical expenses.
Open-heart surgery would burden any family, but considering all they have endured over the years, this is a staggering hardship to overcome. We are turning to our community and beyond for support. We want Mark to be able to focus on recovery without the added stress of financial worries.
If you know Mark, you understand how humble, selfless, and hardworking he is. From church service to his dedication as a football coach, Mark consistently puts others before himself. He's a devoted father, husband, son and brother and the kind of person who always steps up when help is needed. Together, let's rally around Mark and show him the love and support he's always shown others. Thank you!
UPDATE:
Mark is out of surgery and the surgeon is very pleased with how it went! From initial testing he was concerned he would not be able to repair Mark’s valve, but he did! In fact, he got emotional when he told us how well it actually went. Thank you all for the support, donations and prayers. I had a conversation with Mark a few days ago and he told me the messages of support and love he received meant so much to him! And the donations are a true blessing and answer to prayers as well. He was able to go into the surgery with a much lighter weight on his shoulders. Thank you!
