Mark's living expenses during treatment

In January 2024, Mark Maxwell was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Mark is beginning a clinical trial at UC San Diego's Moores Cancer Center, where he will receive treatment. His treatment will require weeks-long hospital stays, continual monitoring and routine blood work, amongst other fun activities.

Mark needs to relocate closer to the hospital for the next 9-10 months. Mark is currently a therapist, professor and the Executive Director of the nonprofit Conexa. Because he is self-employed, this also means that his regular income will vary, making living expenses more challenging. During treatment he may be unable to work or see clients.

Any donations will support rent in a higher-cost area for about 10 months, so Mark can focus on his health, treatment and recovery. Mark is currently looking for a room near the Cancer Center!
