Marlene Shears

My name is Alexis, Marlene Shears is my mom. She had one of the most caring hearts I have ever known. She taught me to always love my hardest and without expectations. She was always there for others in a flash without question. She was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer 4 years ago and overcame it. On Dec 8th 2024 she went to the hospital and a tumor was found in the back of her head. She underwent surgery on Dec 16th 2024 to remove the tumor. Surgery went good, however recovery did not. In recovery her heart stopped and she aspirated. She was able to be revived but had to be put into a medically induced coma. Unfortunately more complications happened and she passed on December 17th 2024. With her death being so sudden and unexpected it has left many hearts shattered. I have created this GoFundMe to help with any costs associated with her passing. If funds received surpasses costs then the remainder will be donated to the Calgary ICU in memory of my mom Marlene. They treated her with such care and helped myself and my family through such a difficult time.
