Pond memorial for Marlo John Bilotta.

We hope this message finds you well. While safety provisions are currently being assessed, we have thankfully been granted the opportunity of placing an official memorial tree, plaque, and bench dedicated to the life of our son Marlo, at the Wettlauffer Terrace pond entrance of the Scott Neighbourhood Park West, in Milton. This space was carefully chosen as it is where our beloved Marlo’s life was tragically taken from him at the young age of 22 on July 2, 2023.
Our family is respectfully requesting a small contribution to assist with the costly fees required to place this memorial at the pond dedicated to his legacy.
Marlo was a remarkably kind and compassionate individual who deeply loved his family, friends, and coworkers. He proudly, worked at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) as a Pandemic Support Assistant in Day Surgery, then, as a Patient Transporter, before returning to construction to pursue his passion as a heavy machine operator.
Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing our beloved Marlo, knew he dreamed of becoming a motivational speaker to support individuals like himself with different abilities. People who also suffered from bullying and injustice, as he did throughout his short yet impactful life. Marlo envisioned a world where everyone could be treated equally, with kindness and compassion.
Marlo embodied these values at a very young age and always recognized the good in others, even in those who wronged him. Marlo was quick to forgive and always ready to help those in need. Marlo’s insatiable curiosity about the world and his desire to understand everyone and everything around him is truly inspiring. For this, he will be fondly remembered by all of us who love & miss him dearly, and by those who learned about him as a result of his devastating passing.
We believe that a dedicated bench, plaque, and tree at the pond where our family mourns his unforgettable presence, will serve as an everlasting tribute to his memory. Providing some comfort to us, and a serene place for others to reflect and find solace. It will remind everyone who visits of Marlo’s vision for a kinder world, where we stand up for those whose voices are too soft to hear, those less fortunate, and strive to be better people towards each other.
We kindly ask for your support to proceed with this memorial. We hope it will not only honor our son’s life, but also enhance the beauty and tranquility of the area for the surrounding community.
We have not yet been given an official cost required, however, we do know it will be substantial. Any additional funds donated beyond the fees required for the memorial will be divided in memory of Marlo among the following organizations:
- Walk to Remember 2024 TEAM: Long Live Marlo 999 (Raising funds for the Centre for Grief and Healing Bereaved Families of Ontario - Halton/Peel)
- The Mental Health Program at Halton Healthcare Services
Thank you for considering our heartfelt request and for your support in keeping Marlo's legacy alive.
With deepest sincerity,
Elizabeth, Giuseppe, & Matteo
