Marlon’s Leukemia battle

Marlon is 10 years old and in the fight for his life!  Just days ago he was diagnosed with ALL leukemia. 

Normally and active, adventurous kid.. then about a month ago they noticed that he was tired a lot, then had a fever and was not feeling well.  This got better, then changed to pain in his arm, then pain in his legs... so much pain he was unable to sleep and was having a hard time doing basic things. 

Finally the doctor calls with an answer, as Shera explained that moment... 

“That moment when the pediatrician calls and says McMasters ER is expecting you.
I want to throw up but I can't breathe but I can't not breathe because I am hyperventilating and crying. My heart is pounding. I feel light headed and my feet are stuck to the ground. Everything is turned inside out and upside down and I can't go but I can't not go
So we go and leukemia is confirmed for Marlon and I just don't know...”

He has an incredibly long and hard journey ahead of him. Shera has not left his side as they are admitted to McMaster Children’s Hospital. Bone marrow biopsy is done and waiting results, chemo starts this week! He is expected to be in the hospital for approximately a month, then he will be discharged and expected to continue chemo as an outpatient 3 times per week! 

Shera has had to leave work, but as the sole bread winner in the family, this will come with great sacrifice.  They will need help. The bills will keep piling up as she stays for the next month in the hospital with him. Then there will be the outpatient care as well.
