Marple Festoon Lighting Fund - By MarpleFest

We are MarpleFest and collectively we have been trying to encourage more use of the centre of Marple for our businesses and create memorable events that help us become a stronger community.

We are a small but dedicated team of volunteers, we make no profits just do our best to help the comunity with great events, and make our little part of Cheshire, as great as it can be.

To make the most of our thriving night time economy and present Marple in a better light, we would like to install festoon lighting in Marple precinct. This would reach the length of Market Street and Derby Way.

The aim is to support our cafe and bar culture and make everything that happens in Marple as enjoyable as possible.

This fund helps us achieve that. We have a quote from a local authority approved installation company. It's way more than what we have in our quaffers. Having recently posted a poll on social media, it became clear that Marple wants to get behind this.

Festoon Lighting will make our events in Easter, Summer and Christmas even better. Not to mention enhance security and safety throughout the year as we enjoy our local businesses.
