On February 6, 2021, Ms. Marqus Walker, sadly but courageously, departed this earth at the young age of 45 with her son by her bedside. She was determined not to let her fierce battle with Brain Cancer be in vain.
As an advocate for education and service, she was clear about two priorities; first, and most importantly, the care of her son, a college student and member of the Colorado National Guard, pursuing a career in information systems. Second, raising Brain Cancer awareness in marginalized communities in a manner that encourages community support and helps to advance critical care.
To know Marqus is to know honesty and truth. She was a passionate soul with a contagious spirit excited about celebrating others in pursuit of their purpose.
Donating to this fund will help Marqus Walker’s son, and the researchers make advances in addressing racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in brain tumor treatment. Doing so helps to create hope for many other families impacted by this type of Cancer possible.
