Marsa’s battle with cancer
Donation protected
This afternoon my mom was put on life support and is in critical care.
A month or so after we lost her mom, my grandma; my mom was diagnosed with cancer. We knew it was bad, but didn’t know how far it had spread. In april she underwent several biopsies and scans. We received a little good news that the cancer hadn’t spread to her lymph nodes, her last biopsy of the abdomen was Monday.
She wanted to take the week to focus on catching up at work and preparing for radiation and chemo; which was aggressively scheduled to begin on Tuesday.
This morning however, she was taken by ambulance to menomonie and helicopter to EC. In the hours that pasted today, we learned that the abdominal biopsy had continued to bleed. Between blood thinners, her body fighting, and no physical indication of a bleed; she became ill without much warning and rather suddenly. Thankfully Keith called an ambulance despite her judgement.
She’s been given blood transfusions, and they were able to stabilize the viscosity of her blood enough to stop the internal bleed. She remains on life support and a ventilator tonight, but her vitals are stable.
Our hearts are broken. I pray for my mom, the fight she has ahead of her, and for the man that has loved her purely through it all. His love for my mom is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen in my lifetime.
Please keep her in your thoughts. If you would like to help financially; it would be a blessing to our family. Shes been through so much, rather quietly.
Let us not forget Squeekers either, whos anxiety is likely unhinged. Updates in the morning.
