Marsha Bourgeois

Friends, at around 3:00 this afternoon, Marsha Bourgeois (Mrs. Boo as many of us affectionately knew her), left the earthly life. Last Friday, she was rushed to Slidell Memorial after a sudden stroke and subsequent kidney failure. After a week of ups and downs, she took a sudden turn earlier today and died peacefully this afternoon with Michael and close friends and family at her side.

Many of you who knew Mrs. Bourgeois, know she was a devoted wife, mother, and a deeply committed educator of 30+ years at Pope John Paul II High School. Her commitment to education, the academic process, and to Pope John Paul II High School was unparalleled and her love of literature and the English language was unmatched.

One of the great tragedies of the covid pandemic, was that both Michael and Marsha had to ride off into the sunset rather than celebrated in a last year of teaching before retirement. Michael and Marsha are the two longest serving teachers of Pope John Paul II High School. In your generosity, please help celebrate all these two have done for the Slidell and PJP communities. Funds will go to offset funeral and medical expenses for Marsha as well as well as a thank you to Michael and Marsha's years of dedication to the Slidell and PJP communities.

Funeral is tentatively set for Saturday, May 6th. Visitation at 9:00 and funeral mass at 11:00.
