Marta's anticipated medical costs
Donation protected
My name is Marta Kutyreff and I live in Los Alamos, NM.
I am a widower, and I have two wonderful, grown children. A few years ago, I began to have serious pain and symptoms, which my local doctors could not figure out. There were many tests and specialists, but this did not yield a diagnosis. Still in pain, and searching for answers, I went to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.
At the Mayo Clinic, it was discovered that I have a lesion/cyst in my pancreas. My mother died of pancreatic cancer; and I am showing the markers and symptoms. While I have not been specifically told I have pancreatic cancer, the markers indicate I am a candidate. As a result and because of continuing debilitating symptoms, I am returning to Mayo for more tests.
My appointment is August 27- 28, 2017, and due to my financial circumstances from the myriad of tests run before, this trip is going to be very difficult financially.
However, I am optimistic that this trip will finally yield a diagnosis and treatment.
Honestly, I really want to be healthy again. I am tired of being sick and in pain and an emotional burden to my family, friends and children, who have all continued to support me through this medical enigma.
Truly, I am eternally grateful for any financial help you can offer.
My anticipated costs:
Gas: $200;
Hotel: $64/night
Meals: $15/day
Tests: $2,000 (estimated from the last visit which included tests/exploratory surgery)
Surgery for removal of anything discovered during testing: $1,500
With my best regards,
Marta
