Hi!
I'm Martha. I'm currently an underemployed public health researcher focusing on maximising safety within sex work. I am also a freelance cartographer, protest first aider, and unpaid community support worker for queer people.
I'm about to start training to become a paramedic, so that I can help queer people have better access to primary care, and build a better street medic movement in the uk.
I am currently living in a house that is inaccessible for me. I need to move urgently so that I can study safely, and live close to my support network.This will be my second move in three months, which is stressful, time-consuming and expensive.
To do this, I need some help: I need to learn to drive (which will cost about £1000 in total), and convert this into a class D licence before I qualify as a paramedic (this will cost another £1000).
In the immediate term, I need help supplementing my income so I can afford to rent a place which is safe for me to live in. At present, I am struggling to make ends meet despite my monthly income, and regularly have to draw on support from friends and family - not being financially reliant on them is my first priority. £1000 will cover this for 5 months, letting me study and learn without the burden of securing additional employment.
Please help me save lives and improve queer access to healthcare and support!
