Martin Anderson (known as MARTY to all that know him) his Story

As Martin Anderson’s mother, daughter’s and sister we express our gratitude to those who have taken the time to read Marty's story and share it with others on your page for donating to Martins (Marty) cause for support as the doctors say he has at least another year to recover.

One well-known thing about Martin (MARTY) is how hard he has always been known to work hard worked hard in his life supporting his family and a man anyone could count on if in need. Driving that big rig was his absolute passion That was up until he misdiagnosed in June of 2024 with throat infections until he almost clasped driving the big rig in January 2024, he was rushed to hospital inland hospital where he was diagnosed with stage three -four Squamish cell throat cancer he was immediately sent to Kelowna cancer clinic where he underwent chemo and 35 radiation treatments, which was a miracle he survived but not without extensive side effects from the harsh radiation treatments. When we were all informed in August 2024, he was cancer Free. We all had tears of happiness which only lasted in a very short time for him to have the real battle for his life ahead of him. In October 2024 he was rushed to hospital having huge difficulties breathing and weighing under 129 pounds as he had lost so much weight of over 150 pounds he was a shell of a man to what he was , he was placed in ICU for over 3 months of which he was put into an induced coma to save his life as his lungs were full of secretions and his body was shutting down as it affected his heart where he was revived not once but 5 different times each times each time we were informed he was improving his health would reverse and he needed to be revived again and again . He eventually survived these stages and was airlifted to Surrey hospital from Inland hospital in Kamloops where he underwent very long surgery to reconstruct his throat, or he would have passed as the treatment had done too much damage. He fought this battel hard by losing his voice box, vocal cords (total Laryngectomy) along with his tonsils. lymph nodes and dead tissues in the throat. The radiation had eaten up all the flesh on a bone and left a huge hole in the right side of his throat where they had to take tissue on both legs to graph. They also graphed several areas in his throat so he would heal the best he could. This was the only way they could save his life as it was not just cancer, he had to endure but also the harsh side effects of the treatments. Now he is stabilizing from the threats of passing and the treatments and unfortunately now he has financial issues as his savings have been used up and he will lose everything he has worked so hard for due to these health issues he has endured. We are asking for financial support to Martin’s (Marty) in any amount to get him through the long journey he has ahead of head in long recovery as it will be about a year for him to be able to do what he loves best DRIVING that BIG RIG and being there for others as he has done in the past. We all want to extend of huge thank you to you all from with our hearts for all your support for a loving caring hardworking man our son father and brother who has conquered the C word and is still surviving thanks to all the prayers and kindness of you the people. Cancer sucks!!!!! PLEASE NOTE As Martins mother I am the person who is handling all of Martins benefits due to he is unable to at this time due to the illness. I thank you all for your compassion for my son “Cancer is not fair to anyone, and it sure sucks. You never truly know the depth of someone's fight until it touches your family or someone you love dearly. My son is a miracle—but the treatment has left lasting marks, and we are doing everything we can to help him regain his life.
