April 25, 2024
Thank you to everyone who has helped, during this time of need. It is with a heavy heart that this update will be our last. Dad has gone to sleep. He is resting and no longer in pain. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for addiotional support to help pay for burial details. Dad did not have a life innsurance or any finincial plan in play for something like this. We will not be having a service for him, as he requested. If you are able to help, we'd greatly appreciate it. We ask for continued prayers, for those of us who are left to deal with our new reality.
Update, April 4, 2024:
Dad was moved to a brain injury long-term care facility in El Paso. He is having a rough time acclimating to this new location but we’re hoping that with time he will be fine here. His vitals are fine except for his heart rate. There are times when his heart is pumping, as if he were running a marathon, and then there are times when his heart beats are dangerously low.
As for responding to stimuli, he has almost completely stopped responding to our touch or our voice. Every once in a while he will open his eye or his mouth when we ask him to. This, of course just let us know that he is still with us and he can hear us although maybe sometimes his brain does not cooperate with him. One thing that he does do a lot is yawn. He has the most contagious yawns that makes us feel like he is just napping. But truthfully, we need him to wake up. We have read that it takes time… tomorrow will be 3 weeks since his accident. If time is what he needs, then time is what we will give him.
Please continue to pray for dad, his wife, his sisters, his children, and his grandchildren as we continue to trend through this.
We haven’t left his side and don’t plan to.
Also, give if you can and hit share on his Gofundme.
Our dad suffered a horrific accident on Friday (3/15). He fell off the roof onto a cement sidewalk. As you can imagine, his injuries are extensive: shattered skull, brain swells, fractured face, broken right wrist and knee…it’s just too much to list. He is currently sedated and intubated in the ICU at UMC El Paso. He is in this for the long haul. While he has had multiple surgeries, he will still need additional surgeries and therapies as he recovers.
We are praying for a miracle. When we say a miracle, we mean, we are asking the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to fully return our dad whole. What is impossible for the God that parted the Red Sea? Our God is the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, what can He not do? To our Heavenly Father, we are supplicating that he completely restores our dad’s broken body.
We are forever grateful to Yahweh that our dad is alive. He still has the breath of Life in him. And this is a miracle in its own right.
Our dad is our family rock. Dad lives for his family. There is nothing that he will not do for his wife and children. Growing up, we were never hungry or lacking anything. He kept his family safe, warm, fed, and always loved. He still does. He loves with a big heart.
We now come to you, asking for help. First, we ask for your prayers for Martin Del Hierro and the family. Keep lifting him in your prayers, that our Heavenly Father gives him full restoration. We are treading in uncharted territories here. May Yahweh put the right people in our paths as we navigate through all of this. Secondly, please share this campaign. Just hit “share” and done. The more we can spread the message, we pray people's hearts are moved and motivated to help where they can. Lastly, if you can help with any monetary amount, it is greatly appreciated. The family is pulling together and we are asking for help. There are expenses we need to cover while he is in the hospital, and WHEN he gets out. As a family, we are working on a long-term plan to care for our rock, our dad.
