Hello, my name is David Haskett. I am one of Martin's former coworkers, friends, and peer in our legal community.

I'm creating this Go Fund Me on behalf of Martin E. Thompson's family to assist them in paying for the costs to memorialize him.

Martin E. Thompson ("Martin") grew up in Harney County, Oregon. After Martin completed high school, he moved away from Harney County to pursue an undergraduate degree and expand his horizons. Martin successfully obtained his undergraduate degree, and then put himself through law school and an LLM Program.

After completing his legal education, Martin relocated back to Harney County and opened his first law firm. Martin enjoyed personal success in that venture: it was where he met the love of his life, Leslie.

Martin and Leslie's journey took them to Deschutes County, Oregon.

In Deschutes County, Martin found a large community of friends, peers, and clients, all of whom were impacted by Martin's vivacious personality, his incredible sense of humor, and his love for those around him. Martin's passion for representing his clients and advocating for causes that he believed in was infectious and was one of his driving forces.

However, there was nothing that Martin loved more than his lovely wife, Leslie, and his three children, Dalton (age 9), Sophia "Sophie" (age 7), Dillinger "Dilly" (age 5). Sadly, Martin will not have the opportunity to meet his fourth child, whom Leslie is expecting to welcome into this world later this year.

Although many believe that all lawyers are wealthy, that is seldom the case. We are asking that you please consider donating to help fund an appropriate memorial service for Martin's family. All donations will be provided to Martin's family.

Funds are being used to pay for Martin's memorial services, his headstone, his urn, and related items. Any and all remaining funds will be spent by Martin's surviving spouse for hers and the children's benefit.

Martin's traditional memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM On September 16th at St. Andrews Episcopal Church/Peace Lutheran Church, 393 W A St, Burns OR 97720.
