Fundraiser for the family of beloved Martin Hofer

As you may have already heard, our dear friend Martin Hofer passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 17, leaving behind his daughters Nadia (15) and Alina (11), and his wife, Allison. Martin fully expected to recover from his illness, and his passing caught his doctors and his family off-guard. The family is now faced with unimaginable tragedy and unfathomable grief.

Martin’s absence leaves a big hole in the world and in our hearts. He was a loving husband, devoted father, son, and brother, and a caring and compassionate friend. His beaming smile lit up every room he walked into. He demonstrated true strength, gentle humor and kindness every day. He charmed us all with his wit and stories, which humbly displayed his vast knowledge and unbreakable moral character. When he wasn’t working, he loved flying planes, skiing, swimming, playing piano, learning languages on duo lingo, reading, watching soccer and spending time with friends and family. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Now, Allison and the girls are facing a steep hill together. This GoFundMe states a goal of $1.00, however, as you might imagine, there are memorial and funeral costs in the US as well as in Martin’s home country of Germany, along with many lingering medical bills, and other unforeseen expenses that are piling up, on top of the loss of their beloved husband and father.
