Marti Wheeler's Breast Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
In early February, Mom went to the doctor for her knees (no cartilage - bone-on-bone) and came out with a stage 2B breast cancer diagnosis. She has an approx 50mm (2") tumor that needs to shrink before she can have surgery to remove it - 16 weeks of chemo and associated care and then at least a partial mastectomy. Her 20% of each chemo treatment is >$3000.00 until insurance kicks in for full payment of each treatment.
Knees won't be worked on until after cancer is finished.
Any additional monies will be used to make house modifications needed to accommodate her treatment, recovery, and independent living. Travis and Aubree have informed me that you might want a breakdown so here goes for the improvements I know of (Mom hasn't mentioned others):
Chemo treatments out of pocket expenses: 7,000.00
Concrete pad & ramp in driveway (easier for walker): 15,000.00
Tub to shower conversion (still getting estimates, lowest is) 17,000.00
